FIVE YEARS. AND THE CASE FILE KEEPS GROWING.

Picture two live-casino giants. A private intelligence agency. And a detective story that started in 2021. Five years. Long enough to launch a casino, sell it and launch another one. Yet Evolution and Playtech are still debating who commissioned what, why, and what it means.

WHO CALLED THE DETECTIVES?

It began with a 2021 Black Cube report claiming Evolution games were available in prohibited markets, including Iran. Evolution disputed the allegations and sued over reputational harm. In October 2025, Evolution named rival Playtech as the company behind the investigation. Playtech confirmed commissioning the report but disputes allegations of unlawful conduct. So the investigators were real. Whether the report proved its central claims is still disputed.

BETDILLA COCKTAIL: THE OLIVE

PLOT TWIST: MORE COURTROOM TIME.

In April 2026, Evolution tried to add Playtech to the lawsuit. A judge declined for now in June, without ruling out a renewed attempt. Playtech is not currently a defendant in that case. The next episode is scheduled for November 16 in New Jersey: a hearing on a UPEPA motion seeking to dismiss the existing case under a law aimed at certain lawsuits targeting public expression. It will not settle every allegation in the 2021 report. A ruling may follow later.

EVERYONE IS WATCHING EVERYONE. WHO WATCHES THE GAMES?

Behind the trench coats is a serious question: where do suppliers' games end up, and who controls distribution? Play’n GO recently tightened its approach to aggregators. And the TetherBet Curaçao licensing mystery reminded the industry how quickly questions of trust become headlines. Different stories. Not evidence of wrongdoing in this lawsuit.

A REPORT ABOUT A REPORT. NATURALLY.

Playtech cites a separate Spectrum Gaming review as supporting elements of the Black Cube findings. Evolution disagrees with that reading. The claims remain disputed. There is no final judicial finding resolving them all. If you enjoy reputational disasters, remember BITZ and its ill-judged live-blackjack promotion. This time the stage is a courtroom. The props are legal briefs. And the puppet strings are still very much in view.

BETDILLA VERDICT.

Two casino giants have spent five years searching for the person behind the curtain. The curtain has apparently hired a lawyer. November 16 brings another procedural hearing, not the final reveal. Until then, the puppet detectives can keep inspecting each other through their magnifying glasses.
