KEVIN HART. OFFSHORE CASINO. VPN. WHAT COULD GO WRONG?.
An offshore casino reportedly urged UK users to bypass geoblocks in promotions featuring Kevin Hart. Here is why affiliates should pay attention.

THE CELEBRITY HOOK — AND THE VPN PITCH.
A Hollywood name, an offshore casino, and a suggestion to use a VPN to get around geoblocking. That sounds like a headline engineered for clicks. According to reporting by iGaming Expert on October 23, 2026, offshore operator GodOdds distributed marketing emails featuring comedian Kevin Hart and encouraged recipients in the United Kingdom to use a VPN if they could not access the offer. Crucially, there is no indication that Hart or game supplier Pragmatic Play knew their imagery was being used in communications encouraging people to bypass geo-restrictions. The reported use of promotional imagery should not be confused with an endorsement of GodOdds or its VPN message.
WHAT WAS ACTUALLY REPORTED.
The report describes a promotional campaign associated with the Pragmatic Play Network. GodOdds reportedly pushed the offer to its mailing list in the UK, including language pointing users towards VPN access when blocked. These details were reported by iGaming Expert; BETDILLA has not independently obtained or authenticated every email recipient's message. The distinction matters. A promotion may be genuine at supplier-network level while a separate casino's distribution or claims create their own compliance questions. There is no basis in the available report to accuse Hart or Pragmatic Play of deliberately facilitating circumvention.
WHY THIS IS BIGGER THAN ONE CASINO.
For licensed UK operators, compliance spending, advertising restrictions and age protections are recurring commercial costs. Offshore brands may attempt to compete through looser acquisition tactics. A VPN message aimed at overcoming a geographical block raises an obvious question: why is that block in place, and what protections or permissions would a user bypass? The answer varies by operator and jurisdiction, so a VPN reference by itself does not establish a criminal offence. Still, telling players to defeat a location restriction is a substantial reputational and partner due-diligence warning.
THE AFFILIATE TRAP: HIGH CTR, HIGH RISK.
From a performance-marketing perspective, this is an almost laboratory-perfect clickbait package: celebrity recognition, urgency, exclusivity and a workaround. It can make a creative look powerful before anyone checks the quality and legality of the resulting traffic. For an affiliate, the essential questions are more important than CTR: Is the brand authorised where the traffic originates? Is the campaign approved by all parties whose images or assets appear in it? Are the landing page and promotional claims compliant? Are geo restrictions intentional, and are partners being asked to sidestep them? How will the operator validate and pay for acquired players? A large CPA cannot compensate for frozen commissions, reputational damage, rejected traffic or exposure to regulatory enforcement.
WHAT ADVERTISERS AND NETWORKS SHOULD CHECK.
1. Verify licence and permitted GEOs before accepting an offer or promoting a casino. 2. Obtain written confirmation of rights to use celebrity images and supplier co-branded assets. 3. Reject creatives that instruct users to evade operator or platform geo controls. 4. Audit affiliate newsletters, influencers and landing pages, not just approved ad mockups. 5. Keep a record of approvals and escalation decisions when a campaign raises doubts. Those are BETDILLA's practical recommendations, not a legal judgment on the reported GodOdds activity.
BETDILLA TAKE: A FAMOUS FACE IS NOT A COMPLIANCE STRATEGY.
The biggest lesson is not that a celebrity appeared beside an offshore promotion. It's that attention-grabbing acquisition tactics can cross into territory where brand permission, local authorisation and distribution controls must be questioned. If a campaign needs a Hollywood face AND a workaround for a geoblock, perhaps the first KPI to review isn't CTR. It's whether the campaign should be running at all.
